Jeremy Thompson’s Movember Mustache

When asked who his mustache role-model is, Jeremy with confidence stated Ron Burgundy! And why not. His sense of style and charisma is a perfect aspiration when trying to sculpt and model your Movember Mustache.

If you are not familiar with Movember, for the month of November, gentlemen from across the world have come together to raise money for Prostate Cancer research, and the Live strong foundation through the sponsorship of their upper lip. I have personally donated to Jeremy Thompson’s Mustache and applaud him for his courageous dedication to the cause. I must also give props to my sister Allie who has lived with it for the last month.

If you have not yet donated, please take a second to support Jeremy Thompson’s Mustache.

I am happy to be a supporter of Movember and am proud of Jeremy Thompson for being a team player while sporting a fantastic Stash. Congrats JT!

Only Magic @ the Magic Castle!

Only Magic @ the Magic Castle!

Our visit to the Magic Castle was truely a Freakcast. I almost got turned down at the door for wearing sneakers. fortunately they had an extra pair of shoes in the back. Marlo wore his mask, as Abi and I cringed at the guy who was eating light bulbs at the Freak show Deluxe. A highlight of the night was in the parlor room when the magician read Abi’s mind and made a table levitate. The magic castle is a truly unique experience of hospitality, dance theater, acts of awe and of course magic.

The Magic Castle is the private clubhouse for the Academy of Magical Arts, Inc, a very special organization devoted to the advancement of the ancient art of magic. The purpose of The Academy is to encourage and promote public interest in the art of magic with particular emphasis on preserving its history as an art form, entertainment medium, and hobby. Beginning with a charter membership of 150, the Academy has grown into a world-renowned fraternal organization with a membership of nearly 5,000.

Only Magic at the Magic Castle in LA. What a great stay in the Hotel of the Magic Castle. Free mini bar. Great Service. and large rooms.

I don’t think this guy gets the concept of skating exactly. (Keep your eye on the guy in the red jacket. You know, the guy running around the rink on his skates and then doing wide-stance fanciness for no particular reason.)

Though he is new to twitter, James Knowles @barkingdognews has been telling stories since the beginning. Like an arching bridge, his objective has been to connect worlds. Craving to initiate with big ideas James Knowles is all about the adventure. He has identified his voice as Barking Dog News and this (C) Level storyteller is here to make some noise.

Who is roger smith? James Knowles

explains.

The Roger Smith Hotel in midtown Manhattan is known for its creativity, comfort and hospitality. This boutique hotel is a perfect hotel for just about every traveler. The question often arises, Who is Roger Smith?

Thinking about his recent sculpture James Knowles is reflecting “In the minds eye.”

In a coversation with John Knowles @RShotel, president of the organization James Knowles asks, “So how do we reach out?”. John: “You let other people do it for you.” James: “How does that work?”

Roger Smith Hotel Social Media Re-mix

The concept crowd sourcing content becomes a great way to allow for others to share your virtues. The idea of others taking your brand into their own hands might seem scary but when the public personalties embrace your identity the reach of your message spreads farther than you can anticipate. To watch as a video blog of ijustine, shot in the roger smith hotel, released through her youtube account, reach 50,000+ hits in one day, is an exciting example of how social media can bring unexpected results.

The understanding and embracing of others to tell the story of your identity creates new levels of branding opportunity. The most important thing to understand is that our satisfaction is in you. The exciting moment of social media and the social internet is when an online engagement translates into a face to face interaction.

It is important to thank our friends both old and new for making the Roger Smith Hotel the place for everything Social Media. Thanks for being part of the Roger Smith Culture.

It has been almost one full year since Phase II of Roger Smith Hotels’ on-line presence began. I say Phase II because Phase I started about three years ago with Roger Smith News, a video based website used to broadcast and share the inner community that makes Roger Smith special. Now that this type of communication has a name, social media, we find ourselves right in the middle of the movement.  As we look back over the last few months it is obvious how important all of our new friends and relationships have been in shaping our future.

For the many of you who already know us and embrace our culture, there is a clear understanding that our satisfaction is in knowing you! We are in the people business ~ Roger Smith is not a person – Roger Smith is a community – we look to expand community everyday with new connections, new clients and most importantly new friends.

In the new social internet it is important to engage in the discussion of social media in such a way that we can help others build and share information. We are excited to engage with people in the dialog and embrace the opportunity to interact face to face.

We are excited to be part of the Social Internet and hope to learn more about others who have similar experiences. Please feel free to reach out through any of our social media platforms.  Thanks to everyone who has helped build the Roger Smith Community. Please Share, Comment and Engage!

In the links below you will find great blog posts, editorial articles and even a couple of thoughtful videos published by our guests ( who we like to call friends ). Enjoy.
